ANDE is committed to technological innovation with the official authorization of the Northern Regional Dispatch Operations Center

By implementing a SCADA system to control the regional distribution system, the National Electricity Administration is firmly committed to technological innovation as a fundamental mechanism to improve the quality of electrical service in the interior of the country. This Operations Center, officially enabled this Friday, May 24, by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, and the President of the Institution, Eng. Félix Sosa, has the capacity to monitor and control multiple devices remotely and in real time. , allowing early detection of faults and decision making to minimize interruptions in the supply of the electrical system.

This new Control Center is located in the city of Concepción, specifically at the headquarters of the Concepción Regional Agency on Avda. Fernando de Pinedo and Dr. Roy. It is in charge of monitoring the 69 feeders of the Northern Regional, which covers the departments of Concepción, Amambay and San Pedro, serving approximately 200 thousand active clients.

In terms of infrastructure, this Control Center has a Digital Trunked Radio System and redundant communication links; technical room with servers, cybersecurity equipment and network in high availability. Likewise, it has operation consoles and a video wall for the supervision and operation of the electrical system. In addition, around 140 remote-controlled devices have been installed throughout the Electrical Distribution System (SED) of the Northern Regional, which are operated from this Center.

It should be noted that the engineering project for the implementation of the Northern Control Center was carried out by ANDE officials themselves, who were in charge of the analysis, design, installation and commissioning. The estimated cost of computer equipment, network, cybersecurity and communications infrastructure in the area of influence, as well as civil works, required an approximate investment of G. 5,375,000,000.

Also present at the official authorization ceremony were the Minister Secretary General and Head of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency, Lea Giménez; the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Claudia Centurión; Dr. Juan Alberto Alderete, as well as the Technical Manager, Eng. Tito Ocariz; the Commercial Manager, Eng. Hugo Rolón; the director of Telematics, Eng. Luis Poisson; and Eng. Jorge Barrios, representing the director of Regional Management, along with officials of the Institution.
