The International Energy Efficiency Day (EE) is celebrated on March 5th of each year since 1998, with an International Conference held in Austria; in which it was agreed to highlight this day to raise awareness about the care and rational use of energy, so vital for the life of human beings. In Chile, ANESCO Chile, the National Association of Energy Efficiency and Energy Services Companies, plays a fundamental role in the promotion of energy efficiency in the country.

To celebrate this day, ANESCO Chile shares some of our partners' experiences and available technologies to make rational use of energy in different productive sectors.

Regarding the challenges in the energy sector, ANESCO Chile and its partners aim to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, promote renewable energy for self-consumption, and integrate EE at the user level, in order to have greater resilience and contribute to #carbonneutrality.

For 2025, ANESCO Chile is preparing to offer a fair where visitors will be able to learn about the main EE solutions available on the market to reduce energy consumption and expenses, both for businesses and homes. The fair is called: Get Smart, Start Efficient; and it will take place on June 19 at the Best Western Marina Las Condes hotel, Metro Manquehue.

Mónica Gazmuri, manager of the association, adds that this fair was created with the purpose of contributing to a greater dissemination of solutions, since according to a diagnosis of the association, the concept is not yet sufficiently incorporated among Chileans, as well as greater knowledge is required on where to look for solutions, how to quote, finance them, etc. “Many are still confused and believe they can achieve efficiency by installing PV (photovoltaic) panels, which helps with self-consumption, which is complementary, but it is not efficiency, but rather it is a replacement for energy. Chileans need to improve their homes and make their companies more productive and with fewer losses.”

In the second half of the year, the union will continue to support the development of the Energy + Women Job Fairs and in October, it will take part in a Side Event during OLADE's Energy Week, with a seminar on EE and the ESCO Model for LATAM.
