The governor of Córdoba , Juan Schiaretti, enabled this Friday the first section of the drinking water supply and distribution work for the Sierras Chicas Norte corridor, which includes the La Puerta area (Colonia Tirolesa), General Paz Station, Salsipuedes and part from Rio Ceballos.

During the event, Schiaretti said: "With what is working today, we have solved for at least 30 years the problem of drinking water in Salsipuedes and interconnected various basins, because in Córdoba we understand that it is the responsibility of the provincial government to provide drinking water to each corner of the province of Córdoba”.

He also announced that in the next 60 days the next section of the work that will supply drinking water to three other towns in the area could be finished, "they are social investments, they are very important and Córdoba is carrying them out despite all the difficulties it has our Argentina”.

In its entirety, the work includes the installation of 48,900 meters of pipes and the execution of three perforations in the vicinity of La Puerta area. From there, the water collected is concentrated in a main reservoir with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, from which the water is pumped to the beneficiary localities.

For his part, the Minister of Public Services, Fabián López, maintained that this work supplies the area from three independent sources. "It is the commitment to definitively solve the problem of drinking water in this important area of the Cordoba suburbs of Sierras Chicas or Sierras Chicas Norte" and explained that "this entire system will be triple supplied by the Suquía river through the Calera, La Quebrada, and of this new aqueduct that we are preparing”.

In his turn, Mayor Marcelo Bustos highlighted "the commitment of the governor, with the insistence of us and all the mayors of the corridor, to obtain financing, so that this similar infrastructure work comes to provide enormous relief for a long time, not only to our residents of Salsipuedes, but also to the residents of Agua de Oro, El Manzano, Cerro Azul, Ascochinga and La Granja", adding that "here there was planning in conjunction with the Government of the province of Córdoba, to give a solution to all of you."

AMOUNT AND TECHNICAL DETAILS

Minister López also specified that " the total amount of the work exceeds 20 million dollars, today's values are a little more than 4,600 million pesos and the total number of beneficiary inhabitants currently and in the future exceeds 50,700 beneficiaries in this entire area. ”.

In this first section, more than 36,000 meters of trunk pipeline were enabled and an improvement was included in sections of distribution networks in Salsipuedes, as well as a pumping system for the link to Río Ceballos.

With this new aqueduct, a new source is added to the Sierras Chicas system, with supply extension to the north of the corridor and supply flexibility by linking three sources (La Calera, La Quebrada and Colonia Tirolesa).

The work is fully financed by the Government of Córdoba and the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development .

STRATEGIC PLAN

The work is part of the Strategic Plan for Trunk Aqueducts, carried out by the Government of Córdoba with the aim of improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of the province.
