Argentina started the last stage of work on a 3.2bn-peso (US$17mn) expansion of a wastewater treatment plant in El Paramillo neighborhood.

The expansion will increase capacity to 86,400m3/d and involves a new 4.5km pipeline to link to the province’s restricted special crop areas, which use treated wastewater for irrigation, according to national waterworks agency Enohsa.

The last stage also started on a 2.04bn-peso penitentiary in Luján de Cuyo town, involving a 33,500m2 complex.

Rosario city will invest 2.55bn pesos through March to rehabilitate streets.

The administration has paved over 700 blocks between 2020 and 2022, rebuilding 45.6km of streets and repairing 33.3km, according to a press release.

Mayor Pablo Javkin said upcoming works will cover all six districts and the main objective will be to finish works on public transport corridors before the school year starts.

The public works ministry awarded a 57bn-peso contract for the first stage of Santa Fe province’s San Javier aqueduct to a consortium comprising Supercemento Saic, Benito Roggio e Hijos, Rovella Carranza and Centro Construcciones, the provincial government said in a press release.

The contract entails the installation of 360km of pipelines, plus nine pump stations between the San Javier River and Tostado town, where a 600l/s potable water treatment plant will be installed.

A second stage will cover the stretch between San Javier and Villa Minetti town.
