Argentine province outlines US$200mn gas pipeline plan
Argentine province Santa Fe announced plans to invest 196 billion pesos (US$206 million) in six new natural gas pipelines.
The project, known as Plan de Gasoductos para el Desarrollo, involves laying 610km of pipe to carry the fuel to homes and businesses, the provincial government said in a statement.
The infrastructure will also support future decentralized electricity generation and blending with biogas is envisaged.
Work will benefit more than 120,000 residents and 250 industrial offtakers, the statement said.
The six ducts – which would be fed by gas from the transport system of concessionaire TGN – are the following:
Gasoducto del Sudoeste Lechero
Gasoducto Ruta Provincial No. 20
Gasoducto Ruta 34
Gasoducto Ruta Provincial No. 93 and No. 33
Gasoducto Ruta Provincial No. 14 & No. 17s
Gasoducto Ruta Provincial No. 13s – 90
The GNEA pipeline runs through the jurisdiction.
The government plans to put the projects out to tender in phases, the first involving work with a price tag of around 65bn pesos.
A Plan de Gasoductos para el Desarrollo presentation is available in the Documents box in the top-right corner.
