Governor Jorge Capitanich held, this Monday by videoconference, a working meeting with the Minister of Public Works of the Nation Gabriel Katopodis, to analyze and advance the public works agenda that is being carried out in the province. Among the works addressed were the Schulz museum, the works of the Pedro Pescador neighborhood, storm drains in Resistencia, drinking water networks and sewers to guarantee the universalization of the service throughout the province, urban pavement and the second Chaco-Corrientes bridge
Capitanich indicated that Chaco has a projected investment of around $ 200 billion in infrastructure works for the next two years, with financing from various international, national and provincial sources. The projected implies the generation of 20 thousand jobs and a solidity in public works that generate a great change in the productive, financial and economic development of the province.
In this way, the governor and the national minister reviewed the project for the comprehensive restoration of the "Augusto Schulz" Museum of Natural Sciences for which a budget of $ 184 million is projected. The objective is that the building located in the former Santa Fe Station, which presents an advanced deterioration, becomes part of the heritage values of the history of the Chaco.
Regarding the second Chaco Corrientes bridge, Capitanich explained that it is a work of high impact for the country and recalled that President Alberto Fernández has planned a trip to the People's Republic of China where the main objective is to talk about the mega-project of the North. In parallel, the Province is working on complementary works projects such as the accesses to the second bridge.
On the other hand, the president assured that the urban pavement works will be completed in the period 2022-2023, which, through loan 2929 from the Inter-American Development Bank ( IDB ), are being executed in nine locations for an investment of more than $ 1,500 million .
Other works of great relevance discussed at the meeting were the comprehensive resurfacing of 9 de Julio Avenue, 25th Street and comprehensive pavement with storm drains; paving of Edison Avenue, 25 de Mayo Avenue, in Fontana; and Avenida 2, from Sáenz Peña. All of this through the Development Bank of Latin America ( CAF ). They also discussed the need to complete the Resistencia storm drains on Canal 23, which is now 83% complete.
Regarding the interior aqueduct, Capitanich recalled that work is being done so that in the first half of this year the work of the Saenz Peña and La Escondida Pumping Station is completed. That the connection system for the southern access of raw water from the water intake of the Paraná River to the raw water chamber of the Port of Barranqueras be completed. As well as the completion of the energy distribution center and the completion of the pipe networks throughout the work.
