Argentine province to launch US$60mn tender to finish aqueduct
Argentina’s Chaco province reached an agreement with the federal administration to launch a 62bn-peso (US$60.3mn) tender to finish a 512km aqueduct, work on which has been halted since last year after reaching the 80% completion mark.
The new contractor will have 24 months to finish the pipeline, as well as other works such as a water intake, a new potable water treatment plant and pumping stations, the provincial government said in a release.
The original contract was awarded to a joint venture comprising Supercemento, Rovella Carranza and CPC. Works began in 2011 but the contract ended up being rescinded earlier this month following years of delays.
