Ascenty, a joint venture between Digital Realty and Brookfield Infrastructure and the largest provider of data center and connectivity services in Latin America, reported a 54% growth in sales value in 2024, compared to the previous year, and acquired 119 new customers. With this, the company now serves approximately 600 companies from various segments, such as finance, technology, services, retail and industry.
For Marcos Siqueira, COO and head of sales at Ascenty, the positive results are a reflection of a well-executed strategy. “The year 2024 was marked by a very significant increase in our customer base. I notice the market is eager for robust infrastructure solutions that support the increasingly complex demands for storage and data traffic that new technologies and new habits in society are bringing,” he highlights.
The demand for connectivity was one of the highlights of the year for Ascenty, resulting in a 62% increase in Cross Connect sales and a 160% increase in IP bandwidth sales. Cross Connect enables integration with service providers and cloud providers, reducing costs and increasing redundancy. This also results in direct, high-performance connections between data center environments, improving the efficiency of corporate networks.
In addition, Ascenty has achieved significant traffic growth in a short space of time. Traffic volumes exceeding 1.3 Tbps were recorded at IX.SP and 200 Gbps at IX.Fortaleza, thanks to the Internet Exchange service, which enables direct and efficient exchange of data traffic between several operators with high connectivity. Ascenty relies on partnerships such as IX.br and DE-CIX to provide greater scalability and reduce latency.
ServiceFabric™, Digital Realty’s global connectivity and orchestration platform, has been enabled by 59 customers in just six months. The solution integrates workflows, applications and clouds, and is available in more than 50 regions. It is targeted at benefiting industries such as finance, manufacturing, retail and technology.
By 2025, Ascenty expects to further expand its robust infrastructure with new world-class data centers. “The sector continues to grow in Brazil and Latin America. We will begin operations at Santiago 03, our third data center in Chile, with 16 MW, reaffirming our commitment to meeting the growing demand for data infrastructure,” concluded Marcos Siqueira.
In addition, the company will invest in data centers in Brazil, with a focus on the interior of São Paulo, and in new operations in Mexico and Colombia. The strategy will take into account energy efficiency, taking advantage of the abundance of available natural resources.
