AT&T expands 5G to 47 Mexican cities in 2023

AT&T's 5G network in Mexico reached a total of 47 cities by the end of 2023, according to its latest results report.

The company, which surpassed 22.3mn customers by year-end, did not report the number of users connected to the 5G network.

AT&T added 713,000 customers during the year, of which 43.9% were in the postpaid segment.

“In 2023 we face important challenges, including the high costs of the radio spectrum and the reconstruction of the network in Acapulco after Hurricane Otis. However, we closed the year with a positive balance thanks to an extraordinary work team,” the CEO of AT&T México, Mónica Aspe, said in a release.

The company's revenues totaled US$1bn in the fourth quarter of the year, up 26.6% year-on-year due to 15.6% growth in service revenues and 48.6% in equipment sales.

Ebitda reached US$137mn in the fourth quarter compared to the US$85mn obtained in 4Q22. The losses for the quarter were US$43mn, below the US$79mn reported in the same period of 2022.

For the full year, AT&T reported total revenues of US$3.93bn and Ebitda of US$583mn, with a loss of US$141mn.
