AT&T México powers more towers with clean energy

The number of AT&T México towers powered by clean energy rose 10% last year, as 622 of 1,200 sites marked for conversion are now running on green energy.

In 2023, renewable energy consumption totaled 14 million kWh, compared to 13mn kWh in 2022, although conventional energy use remains high at 424mn kWh, according to the company's sustainability report.

AT&T aims to be carbon neutral by 2035.

LOGISTICS

The company is also optimizing the logistics network to improve delivery routes and reduce the carbon footprint. The project led to annual transportation savings of 10mn pesos (US$505,000) and lower pollution.

AT&T also reported investment in the use of robots for packing pine pallets and the implementation of waste management systems.
