Bnamericas
Colombia's civil aviation authority Aeronáutica Civil (Aerocivil) will invest more than 20bn pesos (US$8.6mn) to improve and expand community airports, government news service SNE reported. The investment would go to airports in the regions of Orinoquía, Amazonía, Urabá and the Pacific, SNE quoted authority director Juan Carlos Vélez Uribe as saying. Specific airports include Calamar (Guaviare), Bocas de Satinga (Nariño), Necoclí, Arboletes and San Pedro (Urabá), La Macarena (Meta) and Carurú and Taraira (Vaupés), as well as airports at Puerto Inírida and Puerto Leguízamo. The investment aims to develop isolated regions, said Vélez, adding that more than 40 airport terminals in different regions have benefited.
