Bachetón road maintenance program has progressed 12,760 km: SICT

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) reports that the Bachetón Highway Conservation Program has completed 12,760 kilometers of the Toll-Free Federal Highway Network.

This Department has provided timely maintenance to 70,906 potholes, equivalent to 53,343 tons of asphalt mix and 331,326 square meters. 1,939 work teams, 277 crews in operation and 1,662 workers have been used.

In Periodic Conservation, the SICT records progress to 116,865 square meters attended, equivalent to 13,439 tons of asphalt mix, where 131 work teams with 319 workers have been used.

It should be remembered that the Federal Highway Network Conservation Program is carried out through two aspects: Routine Conservation and Periodic Conservation.

As part of the Routine Conservation, which began in November of this year and will end in February 2025, the goal is to complete 44,574 kilometers that will be undertaken through 134 work fronts; the generation of 8,500 jobs is estimated.

Meanwhile, the Periodic Conservation, which began in December and will end in April 2025, through 28 work fronts, will aim to cover 688 km and generate 2,760 jobs for the milling and installation of 5-centimeter-thick asphalt pavement.
