BNamericas Announces Leadership Transition; Juan Gamboa Elevated to CEO

Press Release by BNamericas
December 5, 2024. Santiago de Chile - BNamericas, a leading business intelligence company for the Latin American market, has initiated a leadership transition to position the company for accelerated growth. Juan Gamboa, current Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), will assume the role of CEO from founder Greg Barton, effective January 1.
Barton founded BNamericas 28 years ago and has served as CEO since inception. He brought in Endicott Capital, a US-based private equity firm, as a capital partner in 2020 and has led the company through a period of significant growth since that investment. Barton remains a co-owner of BNamericas and will serve as a member of the board of directors to support the leadership team and company through the transition and beyond.
Gamboa has served as CRO at BNamericas for the last four years. During that time, he successfully led transformative growth initiatives in the commercial and go-to-market functions of the company, overhauled processes, and strengthened customer relationships, positioning BNamericas as a key strategic partner to companies operating in the region.
Gamboa has a strong academic background, with a double degree in Management Information Systems and Marketing. He began his career in technology in San Francisco and Silicon Valley and, in these roles, collaborated with Fortune 100 companies to develop innovative and functional digital products.
He subsequently held leadership positions at a technology company acquired by JP Morgan, where he led the implementation of loyalty programs for large financial institutions, managing teams across Latin America and contributing significantly to the company's revenue growth. He also served as CEO of Puntos Colombia.
Barton commented “I am thrilled to pass the reins to Juan, with whom I have worked closely over the last four years. In almost three decades, this company has grown from a small idea into a market leader in data, news and analytics across Latin America, serving thousands of customers in three languages. I know Juan is the right person for this next phase of growth”.
Gamboa stated “It is a great honor and privilege to step into the role of CEO for a company as admired and respected as BNamericas. I am committed to the company’s values that Greg has cultivated over two decades, including high standards of quality in everything we do, a dedication to serving our clients and demonstrating a clear ROI for our products, and sustaining a collaborative, collegial work environment that brings out the best in each of our colleagues.”
