Bogotá due to award 2 sections of road corridor needing over US$200mn

Those interested in submitting offers for sections 1 and 2 – which will require investment of around 859bn pesos (US$221mn) – of Bogotá’s urban transport project known as the green corridor can do so until February 22, according to the final specifications published on Colombia’s public procurement website Secop II.

The documents can be reviewed here with the process numbers IDU-LP-SGI-021-2023 and IDU-LP-SGI-022-2023.

According to urban development agency IDU, section 1 runs from 24th street to 76th street and needs 529bn pesos while section 2 goes from 76th street to 99th street and requires 330bn pesos.

The winner is due to be named on March 27 and the signing of the contract is scheduled for April 10.

The pre-construction stage is estimated at five months and the construction stage at three years. The same group will carry out maintenance for another three years.

The corridor has a total of five sections, three of which have already been awarded and their pre-construction will begin this month.

The works contemplate the transformation of the road link into a corridor with 100% electric transport, exclusive lanes for buses, cycle paths and public squares.

Together with line No. 1 of the Bogotá metro, the green corridor is considered one of the emblematic works for the Colombian capital.
