Bogotá’s ETB tendering power measurement equipment

Bogotá-based telco ETB launched a tender to hire power measurement equipment for its outdoor plants.

On its website, the company said it is interested in receiving information “related to the supply of a voltage detector kit, consisting of voltage detector equipment and a telescopic rod.”

According to the company, such a kit allows measuring voltage in the external plant network where electrical risk can be identified.

A request for information/request for proposals call is opened for bids submission until April 26. The deadline for expressing interest in the tender is April 17.

In February, the company launched a tender to contract civil works to expand, renew and maintain its networks, including the modernization of access networks.

In another process, ETB launched a call seeking technical and economic information for the construction of pipeline infrastructure for its cabling in the country’s capital.

Those works were necessary for the transfer, protection and/or relocation of ETB’s networks that might interfere with the first line of the Bogotá metro, ETB said at the time.

ETB reported 1.62tn pesos (US$432mn) in operating revenue in 2023, up from 1.55tn pesos the year before. The telco fell into the red with losses of 37.9bn pesos versus profits of 47.8bn pesos in 2022.
