On the eve of the 214th anniversary of the Libertarian Gesta of La Paz, President Luis Arce announced that the Mi Teleférico Café line will be extended to the Pampahasi area, La Paz. In addition, he reported that the tender for the contracting process for the supervision of the Metropolitan Linear Park project in La Paz and El Alto has been published.

“We want to announce the extension of the brown line (…) We will therefore reach the Pampahasi area, in its second section. All the areas of Samapa, Alto and Bajo Pampahasi will be connected to the Miraflores area," he said at the ceremony that took place at the La Paz Parliamentary Brigade in Casa Grande del Pueblo.

To date, the brown line has two stations: one near the monument to Germán Bush, in the Miraflores area, and the other in Villa San Antonio.

Regarding the Parque Lineal Metropolitano, he said that this phase "will be carried out with its own resources and in conjunction with the Inter-American Development Bank to finance the construction phase."

"From the 2021 administration to 2023, more than $1,160,000,000 have been executed in the department of La Paz in public investment, directing all our efforts towards the infrastructure sectors and productive projects," he said.

Likewise, he informed that in the coming months, the international competition for the distributor project for La Ceja de El Alto will be launched with the purpose of achieving a comprehensive solution to vehicle roads. In the same way, he announced the construction of nine bridges for the benefit of La Paz municipalities.

Houses and roads

Arce also explained that in this management, 599 homes were built with an investment of Bs 46,000,000. Also, 43 radio bases were installed with an amount of Bs 97,000,000 and another 13 were expected to be delivered with an amount of Bs 31,000,000. Regarding fiber optics, Bs 93,000,000 were allocated, thus consolidating coverage in the municipal capitals.

In the highway area, it was reported that Bs 500,000,000 were allocated to highway construction projects in the department, in addition to other tenders and financing for highway projects.

Tribute

The report of the Head of State was applauded during the solemn Session of Honor in homage to the 214 years of the Revolution in the department of La Paz. The event was attended by the Minister of Public Works, Edgar Montaño, President David Choquehuanca, national and local authorities, social organizations, mayors and councilors from across the region.

"The Revolution of July 16, 1809 is a fundamental path towards our independence because two very important events converge: the uprising of Pedro Domingo Murillo and those who accompanied him against the Spanish crown, as well as the indigenous struggle which was decisive in opening the path to liberation," said the president.
