Bolivia awards hydro project supervision contract

Bolivia’s state power company Ende has selected a winner in the call to supervise completion of the 203MW Miguillas hydro project in La Paz department.

The top bidder was Consorcio Hidroeléctrica Miguillas II with an offer of 26.4mn bolivianos (US$3.82mn), procurement information shows. The tender was launched in November.

The other participant was Consorcio Hidroeléctrico La Paz. Information on the companies that comprise the consortiums was not disclosed.

The contract will run for 720 days and includes an additional 180 days for final reception.

Miguillas will be comprised of machine houses Umapalca (85MW) and Palillada (118MW) and is penciled in to come online at the end of 2025. The complex will connect to the national grid.

The other components include a 29m-high dam and 23km of water supply tunnels.
