Bolivia awards wind project studies

Bolivia's state power company Ende has selected a firm to advance development of its early-stage wind project pipeline.
The winner of contracts to conduct studies for the La Guardia (50MW) and Santa Cruz (160MW) wind farms is Asociacion Accidental Prolab (AAP).
The work will look at the geological and geotechnical characteristics of the proposed sites for the design of the foundations and excavations required for the construction of the wind farms' structures.
AAP will have 42 days to complete the studies for La Guardia and 56 days for Santa Cruz. The calls were issued last month.
Both plants are planned for Santa Cruz department, home to three of the country's four wind farms in operation: El Dorado (54MW), San Julían (39.6MW) and Warnes (14.4MW). The fourth is Qollpana (27MW) in Cochabamba.
Meanwhile, construction of the 45MW Warnes II wind farm is underway.
