Bolivia hydrocarbon reserves call hits snag

Bolivia’s state hydrocarbons company YPFB declared void bidding to quantify and certify reserves of natural gas and hydrocarbon liquids through December 31, 2023.

The process, launched in August, was cancelled due to procurement system issues related to the upload of offers. A date for a new call was not provided.

The winner will quantify recoverable technical volumes, carry out an economic evaluation and prepare production forecasts. The work will target 59 gas fields.

Meanwhile, four groups submitted bids in YPFB’s tender to advance the installation of satellite regasification stations.

The participants were Asociación Accidental Estaciones Satelitales, Conatrol Construcciones y Servicios Petroleros de Sunilda Avalos Duran de Acuña, Industrial Metalúrgica Carlos Caballero and Ingeniería y Servicios Técnicos.

The work is for the engineering, procurement and construction of complementary works and electromechanical installation of stations Porco in Potosí department and Vallegrande and Concepción in Santa Cruz department.

Awarding is expected next month.

For its part, YPFB Transporte declared void the call to raise import capacity for supply to La Paz, Oruro, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz.

A reason for calling off the process was not provided, and the company did not say whether a new tender will be launched.

The YPFB subsidiary looked to hire a firm to draft the extended basic engineering to implement the infrastructure for the transport of diesel imported via Chile along the OSSA 2 pipeline.
