Bolivia launches airport runway repair tender

The airport unit of Bolivia’s public works ministry launched a 185mn-boliviano (US$26.7mn) international tender to repair the main runway of the Capitán Oriel Lea Plaza airport serving the city of Tarija, capital of the department of the same name.

The contract entails upgrading and rehabilitating the 3.05km structure. This also includes rebuilding an 800m section, documents show.

Bids will be opened on July 19. Documents can be seen at procurement system Sicoes using the ID code 24-0081-61-1444046-1-1.

A separate 46mn-boliviano contract to expand the airport’s passenger and cargo terminals, which was awarded to Accidental Santa Fé, is close to starting construction, public works minister Édgar Montaño said in a release.
