Bolivia launches power transmission tender

Bolivia’s state power company Ende issued an international call to advance the Los Troncos-San Ignacio de Velasco transmission project.

The tender entails studies, engineering, supply, civil works, electromechanical installation, testing and startup of the Los Troncos and San Ignacio de Velasco substations.

The reference price is US$8.05mn and the winner will have 420 days to complete the work.

An information meeting and site visits will take place in August, with offers due by September 9, according to procurement details available in the Documents box in the top right corner.

The 238km, 230kV line will connect the San Ignacio de Velasco isolated system in Santa Cruz department to the national grid and eliminate the use of diesel-fired generation and optimize dispatch.

The project falls under a US$78mn IDB-financed power infrastructure expansion program.
