The Government of Luis Arce and David Choquehuanca launched the international tender for the construction of section I Oruro – Cruce Vinto – Cruce Huanuni, of the Oruro-Challapata double track, for an amount of Bs 394,963,235. In this sense, the Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing , Edgar Montaño, invited all specialized companies to present their proposals until February 15, 2024.

“This road will have two lanes in each direction, that is, four in total, it will have an overpass at the Huanacuni intersection. It will be built with rigid pavement, there will be two walkways and viaducts,” he said at a press conference regarding the characteristics of the project.

Interested companies will be able to submit their electronic proposals through the Single Registry of State Suppliers (RUPE), and the awarding of the works is scheduled for March 12.

80% of the resources for the work will be financed by CAF and the Development Bank of Latin America; while 20%, financed by the Government of Oruro.

The project contemplates the construction of 19.8 kilometers in length with a double track cross section in the urban area and a pair of roads in the rural area.

“With this construction we will allow the fluid circulation of light and heavy transportation, and the risk of traffic accidents will also be reduced,” he said.

Note: The tender documents can be viewed on the SICOES contracting site with the CUCE code 24-0291-00-1401060-1-1.
