Bolivia puts out to tender the Chimoré-Villa Tunari Bridge double lane and prepares delivery of the highway in El Sillar
By Ministry of Public Works, Services and Housing of Bolivia
This is a machine translation of the original press release issued in Spanish.
The Government of Luis Arce and David Choquehuanca launches an international tender to build the double track Puente Chimoré – Villa Tunari, Section IV-A-2 Tunari, where we invested Bs 200,592,539.22 through a loan from Fonplata. In this sense, the Minister of Public Works, Edgar Montaño, invited specialized companies to present their proposals for this consultancy until January 25, 2024.
"We invite construction companies, this work consists of flexible pavement, the construction of two 183-meter bridges, plus 28 culverts, between caissons and tubulars, and has a length of 13.36 km," he said at a press conference.
Likewise, with an investment of more than US$426,000,000, we successfully completed the construction works of the El Sillar double track, one of the most complicated areas that exists in the country. The provisional delivery is scheduled for this Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24, Montaño said.
"The work was completed much earlier than expected, we had to deliver by December, but a month before we have the provisional reception and it is at the service of the general population," he highlighted.
Along these lines, Montaño questioned the announcement of blockades by the transporters of the Chapare Transport Union and stated that there is no reason to block, because the measures are a revengeful attitude against the national government.
“In the Reformulated PGE we have more than Bs 1,012,000,000 to maintain roads mainly in the Tropics of Cochabamba. If the deputies aligned with Evo Morales do not approve, what are we going to do maintenance with?” he pointed out.
Note: The bidding documents for the Chimoré-Villa Tunari Double Track Bridge, Section IV-A-2 Tunari, can be viewed in the public contracting system Sicoes.gob.bo using the unique state contracting code (CUCE) 23-0291 -00-1301071-3-1.
