Bolivia receives offers for liquids plant revamp
Five proposals were submitted in Bolivian state hydrocarbons company YPFB’s tender to optimize operations of the Carlos Villegas Quiroga liquids separation plant.
The bidders were Inspección y Control de Calidad Ingenieros, IPE Bolivia, MRV Servicios, Servicios De Ingeniería Y Consultoría, and Tecna Bolivia, procurement information shows.
The 120-day contract entails carrying out specialized studies and developing the basic engineering to improve LPG dispatch and implement an isopentane evacuation system.
The call was issued in December.
The plant is in Yacuiba, Tarija department, and came online in 2015. It has the capacity to produce 2,240t/d of LPG, 1,040b/d of isopentane and 1,650b/d of natural gasoline.
Meanwhile, YPFB disqualified the two offers presented to advance development of a synthetic diesel plant.
The bidders for the 240-day contract were Buenos Aires-based Tepsi and Axens from France, BNamericas previously reported.
The work entails carrying out conceptual engineering to produce the alternative fuel from tires, plastics and used lubricants. Results will help determine technical, financial, economic, legal, social and environmental feasibility.
