Bolivia relaunches consultancy tender for 600MW hydro project

Bolivia’s state power company Ende issued a new call to advance early development of the 600MW Rositas hydro.

BNamericas previously reported that the original process was canceled after bidders were disqualified for the work, which entails social management and the environmental impact evaluation study.

The deadline to submit offers for the 24mn-boliviano (US$3.24mn), 210-day contract is March 24, according to procurement information available in the Documents box in the top-right corner of the screen.

The project is planned for the Grande river, downstream of its confluence with the Rositas river and 16km upstream from the Abapó community, spanning the departments of Santa Cruz and Chuquisaca.

Preliminary information highlights that Rositas would include a clay core earth dam, river diversion tunnels, a spillway, water intakes and a machine house to hold four turbines.

Meanwhile, Ende declared void a process to carry out complementary studies for generation projects in the Amazon basin because participants failed to meet bidding requirements.
