Bolivia reports jump in global lithium carbonate sales
Bolivian state company YLB sold nearly 770t of lithium carbonate between January and July 2024, compared to 150t in all of last year.
The sales generated income of 46.9 million bolivianos (US$6.7mn), YLB's head of sales and marketing, Omar Miranda, told reporters.
Among others, YLB sold a total of 270t to Latvia, France and China.
The firm also sold samples to companies in India, the Netherlands, Chile and China.
Miranda added that YLB is in advanced negotiations for the sale of another 20t of lithium carbonate.
