Bolivia seeks engineering firms for synthetic fuel, petchem projects
Bolivia’s state hydrocarbons company YPFB launched tenders to advance development of synthetic diesel and petrochemicals.
The first call entails carrying out the conceptual engineering to produce the alternative fuel from tires, plastics and used lubricants.
A previous process fell through because proposals did not meet bidding requirements.
Conceptual engineering is also planned for obtaining conventional raw materials through refining from crude for new petrochemical plants.
Among the deliverables are a constructability study and list of critical equipment.
YPFB’s petrochemical project pipeline includes development of a US$1.29bn second ammonia and urea plant.
Offers for the 240-day synthetic diesel contract are due by September 4 and by September 1 for the 180-day latter contract. Procurement information is available here by placing respective numbers 4448 and 4560 in the Código PAC/PCM box.
