Bolivia to conduct electromobility market study

Bolivia’s state power company Ende launched bidding to carry out a market study of the automotive park to analyze the introduction of electric vehicles.

The work entails classifying the park by vehicle type, fuel used and geographic distribution, forecasting growth, and drafting a penetration strategy, among other tasks.

Offers are due by October 18 with a decision expected at month-end, according to procurement information available here and in the Documents box in the top right corner.

The winner will have until December 31 to complete the study.

The government recently announced that between July 2021 and July 2023, around 2,600 electric and hybrid vehicles were imported, which authorities attribute to financial and tax incentives.

Bolivia’s push to develop its lithium resources is helping drive the build-out of electromobility in the country.
