Brasília to invest US$730mn in infrastructure in 2025
Brasília plans to invest 4.5bn reais (US$730mn) in infrastructure this year.
"We will enter January with our foot on the accelerator to optimize works and move forward with the bidding processes for projects in the first quarter. We still have a lot to do in 2025 and 2026, and we will work with focus to deliver these achievements," Federal District governor Ibaneis Rocha said in a statement.
The government plans to start construction of a bus rapid transit corridor, invest up to 600mn reais in repaving works, advance the 3.6km extension of the Samambaia section of subway line No. 1 and build two stations.
It also seeks to finish 13 basic health units and start construction of seven emergency care units, and is focused on 50 ongoing public school projects, four of which are being rebuilt.
