Brazil FPSO roundup: Uruguá and Tambaú, Jubarte, Mero, and more
Brazilian oil company Enauta Participações has terminated a contract with Modec to acquire the Cidade de Santos FPSO, which operates in the Uruguá and Tambaú fields in the Santos basin.
The firm is discussing with federal oil company Petrobras the consequences of the decision for the acquisition of the fields and the natural gas pipeline from the assets to the Mexilhão field, where it connects to the Mexilhão branch of the Rota 1 gas pipeline.
The contract with Modec provides for Enauta to be reimbursed 50% of the amount disbursed at the time it was signed, approximately US$3.6mn.
Enauta is the operator of the Atlanta field, also in the Santos basin, where it plans to start operating a new FPSO in August.
JUBARTE AND MERO
Petrobras has brought forward the planned start of operations of the Maria Quitéria FPSO to the last quarter of 2024. The original schedule called for first oil in 2025.
The FPSO will operate in the Jubarte field, in the pre-salt of the Campos basin off the coast of Espírito Santo state.
The unit has the capacity to produce 100,000b/d of oil and process 5Mm3/d of natural gas.
The platform left China in May and should arrive in Jubarte in the third quarter of this year.
Petrobras’ Marechal Duque de Caxias, in the Mero field, is also scheduled to start operating in 2024.
TENDERS
Meanwhile, Petrobras is putting out to bids the FPSO that will be responsible for revitalizing the Barracuda and Caratinga Campos basin fields.
The tender documents are available on the company's procurement portal, Petronect, under ID number 7004050042.
The start of commercial proposals is scheduled for August 30.
The tender to charter the FPSOs for the Sergipe deepwater (I and II) project is currently being negotiated with the only bidder, IFM Construções e Montagens.
And Petrobras is expected to launch the tender to contract a new FPSO for the Marlim Sul/Leste revitalization project (P-86) under the EPC modality later this year.
