Brazil invites investors to individual meetings on US$5bn port concession

Brazil will hold individual meetings with investors on September 28 and 29 to discuss structuringand modeling of the concession of São Paulo state’s Santos port.

The 30-minute in-person or virtual meetings will take place between 9am and 7pm, the infrastructure ministry said in a statement.

Prospective participants may register here until September 25.

Representatives of the infrastructure ministry, development bank BNDES, waterway transport regulator Antaq and the federal investment partnership program will answer investors’ questions.

The concession plan is the most advanced in the ports segment, as only the approval of audit court TCU is pending before the auction can be launched.

The government aims to auction the 35-year concession this year. Recently, it increased expected investments to 25bn reais (US$4.8bn) from 16bn reais, including construction of an underwater tunnel to connect the cities of Santos and Guarujá.
