Brazil iron ore exports to China up in Jan-Oct
Exports of Brazilian iron ore to China over the first 10 months of the year increased 24.6% year-on-year to 173Mt as revenue rose 17.7% to US$5.52bn, foreign trade department Secex said.
Iron ore pellet shipments to the Asian giant dropped 81.4% to 1.44Mt in the period as revenue fell 84.7% to US$91.1mn, Secex said.
Revenue from ferro-niobium exports to China fell 18.7% to US$261mn as volumes dropped 6.73% to 12,789t.
Copper cathode sales brought in US$348mn, down 21.8%, as volumes decreased to 73,526t from 78,970t.
Bauxite shipments soared 192% to 4.33Mt, and rose 164% by revenue to US$107mn.
Ferronickel exports to China dropped 31.8% to US$104mn, but increased 2.95% by volume to 43,176t, Secex figures show.
