Brazil launches engineering consultancy tender for PAC program

Brazilian state-run firm Infra S.A. launched a tender to hire engineering consultancy services to support its structuring of infrastructure projects.

Over 60 projects listed in the government’s new growth acceleration program (PAC) will be structured by Infra.

The firm, which forms part of the transport ministry, has a budget of 206mn reais (US$40mn) for the consulting services that will enable new concessions for highways, railways, waterways and ports, it said in a statement.

The services include support for the preparation of technical, economic and environmental feasibility studies, as well as market, demand, traffic, engineering and legal studies. The work also includes assisting Infra with logistics infrastructure planning services.

In the tender, Infra will hire consulting firms through six lots of services.

Interested parties can form a consortium of up to three companies to participate in the bidding process. Each consortium can only take on a maximum of two lots, except for the winner of the lot focused on environmental studies.
