Brazil to join global energy transition initiative
Brazil’s mines and energy minister, Alexandre Silveira (pictured), announced on Friday that Brazil will join global initiatives to accelerate the energy transition and promote decarbonization.
The announcement was made during the plenary session of the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and the 8th Missionary Innovation (MI) meeting in Goa, India.
Besides joining the clean energy marine hubs initiative, Brazil is also a signatory of the joint declaration to accelerate international hydrogen trade.
"We’re confident that we can actively contribute to building balanced rules that effectively unlock large-scale investments," Silveira was reported as saying by local media.

Eletronuclear is resuming the so-called critical line plan to accelerate works on the Angra 3 nuclear power plant project.
"We got an injunction to suspend the embargo imposed by the city hall and we're at the beginning of a resumption, working with the company Ferreira Guedes, which won the bidding process. This is the first stage of the project," Eduardo Grand Court, president of the state-owned firm, was reported as saying by state news outlet Agência Brasil.
He pointed out, however, that the resumption of the major works will only take place when the international bidding process is completed to hire the EPC provider, which is the designer, supplier and builder.
According to Grand Court, this step depends on the modeling being done by development bank BNDES, which will define the necessary investments and the best way to fully resume the project.
