Brazil confirmed that the tender for the construction of the binational Guayaramerín – Guajará Mirim bridge will be published in 20 days, which means a significant reduction in time, stated this Monday the Minister of Public Works, Edgar Montaño.
The announcement was made official by the Brazilian ambassador to Bolivia, Luis Henrique Sobreira.
“It is a joy to hear from a Brazilian authority that the commitment of both presidents, Luis Arce and Lula Da Silva, who gave us a large bridge, is being fulfilled. The small bridges (…) that some Beni authorities wanted were left behind,” Montaño said at a press conference.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NEW BRIDGE
In this sense, the State authority explained that this new bridge will have two lanes, shoulders of more than two meters so that motorcycle taxi drivers can also circulate freely, and it will also have sidewalks of two meters in each direction.
“Brother Lucho got a big bridge. “Those are the characteristics that our specialists will work on once the work is awarded,” he said.
ICHILO-MAMORE WATERWAY
Likewise, he stated that this project is also related to the Ichilo – Mamoré waterway, which is why as a State it insisted on implementing Bolivia's technical characteristics in the tender in the works.
“We have already signed a contract with the MCB-DIA Accidental Association for the supervision of the pre-investment technical design of the Ichilo – Mamoré waterway. This bridge will serve us for life, both in terms of land and river passability,” he reported.
In September of this year, a contract was signed with the company Asociación Accidental Proes – Albatros to carry out the pre-investment technical design study of the Ichilo – Mamoré waterway project, section I, where our Government will invest Bs 23,927,840.81, while the supervision contemplates an amount of Bs 4,660,400.85.
This important project will allow Bolivia to access the Atlantic Ocean and once again ratifies the commitment of the Government of President Luis Arce and Vice President David Choquehuanca to strengthening the economy, through the transportation of passengers and merchandise in general.
