Brazilian mining association Ibram confirms big conferences for 2025
Brazilian mining association Ibram has released its 2025 event calendar, with a series of conferences aimed at generating business and discussing sustainability in the industry.
"Ibram organizes a series of events throughout the year to share innovations, knowledge and best practices while fostering business opportunities in the mining sector. This tradition will continue in 2025. The main events in the sector already have confirmed dates, with some offering open registrations and a significant portion of commercial spaces already sold, such as Exposibram 2025", Ibram said in a statement.
The association's first event of the year will be Diversibram, which focuses on discussing inclusion and diversity, the importance of female participation in the sector, challenges in inclusive leadership and strategies for talent attraction within the mining industry.
The event is scheduled to begin on March 26 in Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais state, and will also be accessible online. Registration details can be found here.
On July 1-2, an international seminar on dam safety will take also place in Belo Horizonte. This topic has become an especially critical issue in the industry following the catastrophic failures of two structures in 2015 and 2019 (in Mariana and Brumadinho, both in Minas Gerais), which resulted in dozens of fatalities and major environmental disasters. In response, mining companies have begun decommissioning such dams, creating business opportunities for firms providing related services.
From August 26-28, Ibram will host the Brazilian open pit and underground mining congress. Since 2000, Ibram has organized this congress every two years in collaboration with the departments of mining engineering at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP). This year, the event will be held at the UFOP.
Exposibram, Brazil’s most prominent mining conference, is set to take place from October 28-30 in Salvador, the capital of Bahia state.
Additionally, Ibram will organize an international seminar on critical minerals later this year, though the exact date and location are yet to be confirmed.
