Brazilian, Russian firms bid for US$1.3bn Bolivia petchem project engineering
Bolivia’s state hydrocarbons company YPFB received two offers in the tender to carry out engineering works for the proposed US$1.29bn second ammonia and urea plant.
The bidders for the 180-day pre-FEED (front end engineering and design) contract were Brazil’s Kempetro Engenharia (US$1.28mn) and JSC "Krastsvetmet" (US$7mn) from Russia, procurement information shows.
YPFB is expected to make a decision in the coming days.
BNamericas previously reported that at least four groups had submitted inquiries about the work, a call for which was launched in May.

Meanwhile, Inspección y Control de Calidad Ingenieros was the top bidder in YPFB’s call to supervise the EPC of complementary works and electromechanical installation of satellite regasification stations.
The state operator also has procurement underway to supervise construction of a US$40mn biodiesel plant and to optimize hydrocarbons output.
