Brazil's Petrobras to charter well stimulation support vessels

Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has launched a tender to charter three well stimulation support vessels (WSSVs). 

The process also involves contracting specialized technical services for chemical treatments, stimulation and the like in oil, gas and other types of wells, as well as in lines and pipelines, in addition to supplying chemical products.

Today, the WSSVs in operation in Brazil are the Stim Star Brasil, Blue Marlin and Blue Orca, all operated by Bram Offshore of the Edison Chouest group, and Stim Star Arabian Gulf, operated by Marlin Navegação.

Petrobras is also holding a series of other tenders for the chartering of offshore support vessels, including:

- Up to two self-lifting and self-propelled liftboats (ID 7004277659);

– Eight RSVs, which are vessels specialized in supporting underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) (ID 7004319394);

– Anchor handling support (AHTS) vessels with the provision of specialized technical services (ID 7004314234); and

– Up to 10 oil spill response vessels (OSRV) (ID 7004306735).
