Brief: Chile's Gasco rolls out LPG truck model
Chilean natural gas distributor Gasco announced the launch of an LPG-fired truck fleet system in association with local vehicle concessionaire Kaufmann.
In a statement, Gasco said the fleet is the first Freightliner S2G model in Latin America, and could save a company up to 3mn pesos (US$4,700)/truck/year compared with a diesel truck, due to lower maintenance and fuel costs.
Gasco highlights that the new trucks emit 70% less particulate material, cut CO2 emissions by 60% and reduce noise by 50%.
