Mexico City, December 4, 2024. The Business Coordinating Council (CCE) reports that representatives of the employers', workers' and government sectors, as a result of the collaboration and coordination between private sector organizations, the Ministry of Labor and representatives of trade union organizations, unanimously agreed, within the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI), to increase the minimum wage by 12%, which would come into effect on January 1, 2025.
Thanks to this agreement, the General Minimum Wage in the rest of the country will go from 248.93 to 278.80 pesos per day, while in the Free Zone of the Northern Border it will go from 374.89 to 419.88 pesos per day.
In the Northern Border Free Zone, the increase is 12% to the General Minimum Wage as follows: 20.62 pesos of Independent Recovery Amount (MIR), plus 6.5% to reach 419.88 pesos per day, with this increase the General Minimum Wage reaches 138% of the Family Welfare Line; meanwhile, in the rest of the country the increase is 12% to the General Minimum Wage: 12.85 pesos of MIR plus 6.5% to reach a daily salary of 278.80 pesos, with this increase the General Minimum Wage reaches 91% of the Family Welfare Line.
With this announcement, the CCE and its member organizations reaffirm their commitment to improving the income of Mexican workers, as well as their willingness to engage in dialogue with all sectors and reach consensus, but, above all, their commitment to not leave our employees and their families unprotected.
We will continue to invest in our country with a Social Dimension vision and work tirelessly to generate more and better jobs, promote economic development and create strategies that guarantee a better quality of life for all Mexicans.
