Cabei approves environmental regulation program

Bnamericas
The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (Cabei) has approved an environmental regulation to reorient strategies to finance economic, social and sustainable environmental projects, the bank said. It will also guarantee that preventative measures and more efficient mitigation efforts will be carried out in all Central American projects. Cabei will also promote both international and national investments for environmental works and will launch an internal plan to diffuse knowledge, such as energy-saving, management and recycling of waste and protection technologies. Central America is home to some 7% of the planet's biodiversity and the regional tropical rainforests are considered excellent regulators of the world's climate, the statement added.
