Tegucigalpa, September 07, 2022.- In order to mitigate the effects of climate change and natural disasters, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) presented the process to request proposals to finance the development of "green projects" to the countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA) and Colombia.
In the virtual event in which ministers and government authorities participated, the Executive President of CABEI, Dr. Dante Mossi, highlighted that "the great challenge of our generation is the fight against climate change, which is why we have to propose multisector projects for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
“With this initiative, the Bank wants to provide resources to finance technical assistance for project preparation, natural disaster management, and adaptation to climate change that will contribute to increasing resilience and reducing GHG emissions in the beneficiary countries.”
During the presentation it was learned that within the framework of the FCC it will be possible to coordinate the exchange of knowledge with the beneficiary countries and with external green sources to achieve the maximum impact on development.
The supported projects must be aimed at providing investment opportunities in actions that can strengthen environmental sustainability, adaptation and mitigation of climate change in areas such as Electric Mobility, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, smart and circular cities.
