Cabei to fund studies for Honduras sewage project
The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (Cabei) signed Tuesday a US$1.39mn technical cooperation agreement with Honduras' finance ministry. Cabei agreed to finance pre-investment studies for a wastewater collector and treatment plant in the country's central district, which is home to capital Tegucigalpa.
Fontec, the bank's technical cooperation fund, will provide US$588,754 of the total sum for feasibility studies and preparing a final design to build a main wastewater collector along Choluteca river.
The remaining US$804,129 will come from France's Private Sector Study and Aid Fund (Fasep), which is managed by Cabei, and will finance feasibility studies and the preparation of the final plant design.
National water authority SANAA will execute the project to improve the district's wastewater collection service and treatment.
