CAF to provide US$140mn infra financing for 2 Brazilian cities
Brazil’s senate authorized the São Bernardo do Campo and Ribeirão Preto municipalities in São Paulo state to obtain financing worth US$140 million from Latin American development bank CAF.
The CAF loans needed senate authorization as they are backed by federal government guarantees.
São Bernardo do Campo will receive US$70mn, which will be used in its Proinfra II urban infrastructure program.
The US$69.7mn for Ribeirão Preto will go to its Ágil urban modernization program, which includes investments in transportation, sustainability, technology and public safety.
