Central America power watch: Consultancy call, capacity forecast, rates proposal

Regulation update contract  

EOR, operator of Central America power grid Siepac, launched bidding to update the regulation of the regional power market’s transmission rights.

Offers for the 32-month contract are due by November 1, according to procurement information, available in the Documents box in the top right corner.

Capacity forecast

Panama’s national dispatch center CND released a preliminary report of long-term firm capacity which includes information submitted by power producers and is also available in the Documents box.

Rates proposal

Honduras’ power regulator CREE published comments following public consultation for a tariff proposal presented by state power company Enee for self-producing users.

For cement group Argos, consultation focused on the residential and commercial sectors, despite companies that operate in the medium- and high-voltage segments that sell surplus to the grid but are not remunerated.
