August, Buenos Aires 2024.- The Argentine Chamber of the Software Industry (CESSI), representative of the federal software and IT services industry, as a benchmark for the sector and the market in general, announced the launch of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub together with ATICMA and POLO IT Buenos Aires.

The center is made up of 4 spaces dedicated to carrying out everything related to the dissemination, research, implementation of solutions, integration with development groups and good use of Artificial Intelligence in its different variants. Each of these spaces, made up of volunteers from the Chamber's member companies, are dedicated to specific aspects around Artificial Intelligence, guaranteeing the development of AI in the country.

The Argentine Software Industry has a large number of talented people, trained people and quality companies that have what it takes to grow in the international software market. They contribute to generating added value and reducing the digital divide, contributing to the development of the country as a whole.

One by one, the 4 Spaces that make up the new Hub:

  • Dissemination and promotion of AI: communicate, evangelize and promote the use of AI in the different client markets of companies in the sector.
  • Implementation and solutions: seeks to help companies incorporate AI into their production processes and redefine their business models.
  • Ethics and regulations: its mission is to disseminate AI ethics and participate, by providing a vision from the industry, in debates about regulations or legislation that govern the use of AI.
  • R&D for the Development of Applications and Tools for AI: This space, intended for CTOs and/or development experts, has the mission of researching, developing and disseminating technological assets that allow companies in the sector to accelerate the development of their AI-based applications.

These spaces are made up of volunteers from CESSI member companies and other entities, who also define their lines of work aligned with their mission. The work is carried out through several periodic meetings coordinated by each Space and instant communication channels that keep them constantly connected. In addition, all the spaces meet monthly to share progress.

We have been seeing how AI is reshaping industries and redefining the relationship between people and technology,” says Alejandro Bianchi, head of CESSI’s Innovation Space. “With the creation of the Artificial Intelligence Hub, we seek to enable CESSI member companies to support this transformation, as well as promote the adaptation of the entire Argentine economy to be able to capitalize on the benefits of the new paradigm for their services, products, ways of working, talent management, production and marketing of their companies,” he adds.

However, for this potential to materialize, CESSI believes it is essential to ensure a regulatory framework that protects society and encourages responsible innovation and the ethical use of AI.

According to Bianchi: “Although the regulatory situation in Argentina is currently premature, it is essential to maintain a balance that allows our companies to continue innovating and competing globally, where the region and markets such as the United States are key to the growth of our exports.” “A well-designed regulation can, and should, coexist with an environment that favors the growth of investments and the expansion of our companies in the international software market. In this way, we will be able to take full advantage of the benefits that AI offers to the country and the industry,” Bianchi concludes .
