CFE completes US$5.4mn rural power project

Mexico's President Vicente Fox marked the completion of a 60mn peso (US$5.4mn) rural electrification program in the Cora-Huichol region of Jalisco and Nayarit states this week, state power company CFE announced. The project's 196km of distribution lines will bring 24-hour electricity services to some 7,000 residents, the CFE said. Mexico's federal government, as well as state and municipal governments, funded the effort.
