Bnamericas
Mexico's state power company CFE has delayed the tender for a contract to build and operate the 839-1,135MW Tamazunchale thermoelectric project in San Luis Potosi state, the CFE said. Interested companies now have until January 23, instead of October 29, to purchase bidding rules. The CFE will open technical proposals January 29, and economic offers will be opened March 4. The CFE will award the contract March 18, and works will start November 26, 2004. Commercial operations are still scheduled for February 2007. Germany's Siemens, Spain's Iberdrola, Japan's Mitsubishi and a consortium of Fluor Daniels (US) and ICA (Mexico) have expressed interest in the project, according to CFE information.
