Chihuahua, location of the 14th International Mining Conference and Expomin

- From April 22 to 26, the event will take place in Chihuahua, which ranks fourth nationally in mining production.
Mexico City, February 15, 2024.- The XIV International Mining Conference will take place in Chihuahua from April 22 to 26 of this year, with the participation of important mining companies in the country, where the promotion of commercial relations, social responsibility and environmental sustainability is sought.
During a press conference held at the Mining Cultural Center, Engineer Luis Humberto Vázquez San Miguel, President of the National Steering Committee of the Association of Mining Engineers, Metallurgists and Geologists of Mexico, invited companies in the sector to participate in this meeting that has been held for 28 years with the purpose of promoting the benefits of mining and geology.
He highlighted that Mexico is the leading silver producer in the world, in addition to being among the first 10 places in obtaining 16 other minerals. The mining sector at the national level generates more than 417 thousand direct jobs, and more than 2 million indirect jobs, hence the importance of mining in our country.
In the 14th edition to be held in the state of Chihuahua, there will be exhibitors who will show cutting-edge services and equipment for mining companies throughout the country; Likewise, new projects and developments in the sector in the state and in the country will be known, commented the President of the Association of Mining Engineers, Metallurgists and Geologists of Mexico, Chihuahua chapter, Eng. Bernardo Olvera Picón.
He highlighted that Chihuahua occupies fourth place nationally as a producer of minerals and second in the production of silver, lead and zinc.
Among the topics to be discussed in the workshops and conferences are Exploration Projects; Data sciences applied to artificial intelligence; Demand for minerals in the energy transition, by the General Director of the Mexican Geological Survey, Msc Flor de María Harp; and a panel called “Where is Mexico heading in its way of governing?”, with Raymundo Riva Palacio, René Delgado, Viridiana Ríos and Mauricio Candiani as moderator.
The coordinator of the XIV International Mining Conference and Expomin, Lic. Magali Bailón Domínguez, explained the operation of the Mining Business Center, which consists of a new dynamic for exhibiting companies to establish contact with other companies to have business opportunities and establish ties labor in negotiations that can take place in the same event.
