Chile approves changes to WOM's concession

Chilean telecoms regulator Subtel approved infrastructure-related changes to WOM's concession contract.

On Tuesday, six modification decrees were published, following other changes approved in January and February.

The newest modifications include changes to base station locations, renaming of infrastructure and authorization of new infrastructure deployment to replace measures defined in the contract.

The modifications affect the 703-713MHz, 758-768MHz, 3.30-3.40GHz and 3.60-3.65GHz bands.

In the 700MHz band, Subtel authorized the replacement of coverage obligations in Aysén, the so-called Chile Chico area and Valparaíso region.

WOM has reportedly not complied with the obligations linked to the latest frequency auctions.

A bankruptcy court in Delaware recently approved the company's reorganization plan, while Chilean antitrust regulator FNE authorized the sale of its operations to Amundi, BlackRock, Man GLG and Moneda.
